How Long Do Botox Injections Last

Botox injections have been around for decades – but techniques and products have got better over time. Here at our Doncaster aesthetics clinic, our talented and experienced team offer botox injections to our clients, helping them feel more comfortable in their skin. Let’s explore some common questions about these anti-wrinkle injections and how they could help you.

What is Botox?

It’s an injectable treatment that’s administered through fine needles. The treatment is safe and effective, and only gaining in popularity.

Who has Botox injections?

Botox is great for men and women, and those over the age of 18. We’re also seeing younger and younger clients looking for these injections as a preventative treatment. That’s because it works by targeting areas where muscle movement can create wrinkles, or has already.

Where can you have anti-wrinkle injections?

They’re ideal in areas of the face and neck, primarily the top-half of the face like the forehead, around the eyes and between the brows. Neck bands are also a great use of Botox injections.

How long does treatment last?

Results from botox injections tend to develop within 2 weeks, and last anywhere from 3-6 months (generally 3-4 months). Top-ups and repeat treatments are needed to prolong its effects. Botox is considered a long-lasting, but not permanent, treatment.

Why have Botox and not surgery?

Surgical invention can be more expensive; require more downtime and recovery; comes with greater risk; and creates permanent results. For our clients, botox injections offer a fantastic alternative, and you can always adjust the quantity in the future to change the effects.

What alternatives are there to Botox?

There are also injectable treatments, such as dermal fillers, which have some anti-aging benefits. However, they use a different ingredient -hyaluronic acid – and tend to target loss of volume and deeper lines and wrinkles typically found in the lower half of the face.

Is botox illegal?

No, but it is a prescription medicine. This means that a consultation should be carried out to ensure it’s right for you prior to use. That’s something we certainly offer here at Elixir Skin Clinic in Doncaster – so you can feel comfortable and confident, and make an informed choice about your treatment.
